These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SavvySeniorCentral.com (the “Site”), owned and operated by Maven Media, LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company (“Maven Media,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Our mailing address is 400 Tenafly Road, #541, Tenafly, New Jersey 07670.
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Who may use the Site
The Site is for people 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18, you may not use the Site. By using the Site, you represent that you are at least 18 and that you have the legal capacity to enter these Terms.
2. What this Site is, and what it is not
Savvy Senior Central is an independent educational publication. It is not a government website and is not affiliated with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Medicare.gov, the Social Security Administration, any State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), or any insurer, agency, or plan.
Articles, tables, tools, and comments are for general educational and informational purposes only. They are not Medicare advice, insurance advice, financial advice, tax advice, legal advice, or medical advice. Reading the Site does not create an advisor, agent, counselor, broker, or attorney-client relationship with Maven Media or with Keith Guirao.
Keith Guirao is the founder and editor. He is not a licensed insurance agent, not a Medicare counselor, not a SHIP counselor, not a financial advisor, not a dentist, not an attorney, and not a healthcare provider. Plan rules, premiums, deductibles, coverage, and eligibility change by year, by state, and by person. Always verify current details on Medicare.gov, with Social Security, with SHIP, or with a licensed professional before you enroll, switch plans, or buy a product.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation;
- Interfere with the security or operation of the Site, including by introducing malware or launching denial-of-service attacks;
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest the Site with bots or scripts except as allowed by robots.txt for ordinary search indexing;
- Copy, sell, or republish Site content except as allowed in section 4;
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or attempt to obtain another person’s information through the Site;
- Use the Site to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages.
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you have broken these Terms or if we need to protect the Site or other people.
4. Intellectual property
The Site and its original text, graphics, logos, layout, and software are owned by Maven Media, LLC or its licensors and are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other laws. “Savvy Senior Central” and related marks are used by Maven Media. You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site for commercial use without our prior written permission, except for brief quotation with attribution and a link, which we permit for commentary, news, and scholarship.
5. User submissions
If you send us an email, a form, a comment, or other material, you grant Maven Media a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that material to operate and improve the Site and to respond to you. You represent that you have the right to send it and that it is not unlawful, defamatory, or infringing. We may refuse or remove submissions at our discretion. We do not have to treat unsolicited ideas as confidential.
6. Third-party links, tools, and advertising
The Site may show advertisements, including ads served by Google and other networks, and may link to third-party websites, tools, or forms. Those parties have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content, products, availability, or handling of your information. A link is not an endorsement.
7. Advertising and affiliate disclosure
The Site uses Google AdSense and may in the future use other advertising or affiliate programs. We may be paid if you click an ad or a labeled partner link, request information, or complete an action on a partner site. Compensation does not change our editorial standards. We do not rank “best” Medicare Advantage or other insurance plans. Labeled marketplace or affiliate placements, when they exist, sit apart from the educational article. Third-party products and services remain the responsibility of their providers. This disclosure is intended to comply with the FTC’s endorsement guides.
8. Forms and partner referrals
You do not have to fill out a form to read the guides. If you submit a form, you agree that we may use the information as described in the Privacy Policy and in the consent language on that form. If the form says a partner may contact you, that contact may include phone, SMS, or email where you have given the consent the form describes. You can refuse a form. Refusing may mean we cannot connect you to a partner. Consent to partner contact is separate from consent to receive our own editorial emails.
9. Electronic communications
If you email us or give us your address and the applicable consent, you agree that we may reply electronically. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those messages. Transactional replies to a question you asked are not marketing.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAVEN MEDIA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT. MEDICARE AND INSURANCE RULES CHANGE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING INFORMATION BEFORE YOU ACT.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers. In those places, the disclaimer applies to the fullest extent the law allows, and statutory rights you cannot waive remain.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAVEN MEDIA, LLC, ITS MEMBERS, EDITORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).
These limits do not apply to liability that New Jersey law or other applicable law does not allow us to limit, including (where such a bar exists) liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury where the law forbids that limit.
12. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Maven Media, LLC and its members, editors, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising out of your misuse of the Site, your submissions, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent a claim is caused by our willful misconduct.
13. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice to with the subject line “Copyright Notice,” including: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work; (c) the URL of the allegedly infringing material; (d) your contact information; (e) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; and (f) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act. We may remove material and, where appropriate, terminate repeat infringers. We have not appointed a designated DMCA agent with the U.S. Copyright Office as of the date above; counsel may add that designation after review.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Site at any time. We may suspend or stop offering the Site, or your access to it, at any time, with or without notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 4, 10, 11, 12, 15, and 16) will survive.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page. If you continue to use the Site after a posting, the revised Terms apply, except where the law requires a different notice or consent.
16. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any non-waivable consumer rights, you and Maven Media agree that the state and federal courts located in New Jersey are the exclusive venue for disputes arising out of the Site or these Terms, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Each party waives any objection of inconvenient forum.
17. General
Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Maven Media about the Site and replace prior understandings on that subject.
Severability. If a court finds a provision unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable.
Waiver. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or to a successor in a merger or asset sale.
Force majeure. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages, labor disputes, natural disasters, war, or changes in law.
Headings. Headings are for convenience only.
No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not create rights in any third party except as stated for indemnified persons in section 12.
